With every tide the ice comes ashore like wreckage scattered across the black volcanic sand. Veins of ancient sediment ran through the crystal ice, dark scars frozen deep. Under the storm sky some of the pieces look like jewels against the dark shoreline, beautiful and haunting all at once. Every fragment marks the slow death of the glacier.
