The reef is only inches below me, but alone beneath rolling waves of glass and bathed in sunlight, nothing else matters. There is a wonderful peace to my position. The slow-moving waves rise and fold overhead, turning my view into shifting light, color and motion, a liquid kaleidoscope suspended in time.
