Watching the heavy surf explode after the storm had passed was something else entirely. From the front side the storm delivered a solid drenching. But from the backside it looked completely unhinged. The ocean reared in walls and smashed on the reef with a sound that shook through my chest, throwing spray high into the wind. It was impossible to stop grinning, while feeling completely insignificant.
